About Us

Abhivruddi is a registered not-for-profit voluntary non-government development organization. Presently organization is working in Six districts of Karnataka state, namely; Bangalore, Bagalkot, Bellary, Dakshina Kannada, Hassan and Tumkur. The organization is facilitating the development process through various projects that has multi-disciplinary integrated approach. Abhivruddi works with children (rehabilitation of working children), women, Scheduled Caste & Scheduled Tribes, marginal farmers, minorities, and other vulnerable families / communities for their development.

Vision

Fostering a society wherein women are empowered enough to lead decent life; all children are healthy, happier and enjoy their childhood rights, especially with right to education; and creating sustainable and humane society wherein all living being have access to resources and manage their livelihood.

Mission

Plan and implement, or join hands with government, donors, non-government and other such bodies for implementing, development projects / programmes that operationalize our vision to awaken, organize, strengthen the target families / communities with total capacities to manage their own development with ecologically sustainable development as a central theme of the development process.

Objectives

  • To form and nurture self help groups (SHGs) in the community and develop women federations for empowerment and overall development of women, especially SC/ST and other weaker section.
  • To enroll school dropouts, conduct non formal and bridge schools for children at risk and to equip children with literacy and life based skills and organize children, especially girl children, in order to fight for their rights.
  • To plan and implement projects / programmes on watershed development in rainfed areas, developing drylands, promoting organic farming, social forestry, horticulture, animal husbandry, income generation activities, cottage industries and other issues in collaboration with local groups and institutions which improve the socio-economic status of poor and vulnearable section.
  • To undertake Reprodutive Child Health, HIV/AIDS awareness and other health related activities in Rural and Urban areas wherever needed.
  • To build pressure on the local, state, national and international governments and other powerful bodies to formulate and to implement policies relating to NREGA, Right to food, joint forest management, natural resources, agriculture, health, education and others, which will improve the socio-economic, educational, environmental and political situation in the community.
  • To facilitate local peoples groups/institutions to be effective in their action to serve the community better.
  • To motivate progressive and mass based organizations for alliances and networking for experience sharing and collective action on common / similar issues relating to poor and vulnerable section.
  • To work in collaboration with national and international agencies for the benefit of the rural and urban poor, especially of children and women.

Future Plans

Abhivruddi intends to strengthen its existing works and also broad base its reach to the people. It has plans to initiate development projects and campaign related activities in Northeastern and Northwestern parts of Karnataka, especially on Health, Education, Watershed, NREGA, SHG formation, Environment related projects.

Organization is looking for volunteers. Those who willing to volunteer their services in our effort are most welcome. The financial contributions of individual and institutional donors are exempted under 80G of the Income Tax Act. Therefore, you are requested for generous contribution.
